WantToBook Online Booking

Beskrywing

WantToBook Online Booking connects a WordPress website to the hosted WantToBook booking flow. Add it with the native Gutenberg block or use [wanttobook] anywhere standard WordPress shortcodes are supported.

Features

  • Shortcode support for the Classic Editor and shortcode-enabled page builders.
  • Responsive width and adjustable height for any WordPress theme.
  • System, light, and dark appearance settings.
  • Global defaults with per-block and per-shortcode overrides.
  • Multiple booking forms or organizations on one WordPress site by overriding the slug.
  • Lazy-loaded booking iframe and frontend styles that load only where the form is rendered.
  • Accessible iframe titles that can be customized per embed.
  • No advertising trackers and no customer or booking records stored in WordPress.

How It Works

  1. Install and activate WantToBook Online Booking.
  2. Open Settings > WantToBook and enter the organization slug from your public booking URL.

Kwel-vrae

Where do I find the organization slug?

It is the organization part of the public booking URL. For example, the slug in https://wanttobook.com/example-business/reserveer is example-business.

Why is the booking form blocked?

For security, WantToBook only allows the booking form to be embedded by the website configured for that organization. Make sure the WordPress site address, including the use of www, matches the website stored in WantToBook.

Can I use a shortcode?

Yes. Use [wanttobook] with the global settings, or override them for one page with [wanttobook slug="example-business" height="900" appearance="dark"]. Appearance accepts system, light, or dark.

Does it work with my page builder?

Yes. Add [wanttobook] through the builder’s shortcode or code element. The same approach works in any page builder that supports standard WordPress shortcodes.

Can I embed multiple booking forms on one site?

Yes. Override the organization for an individual block or shortcode with the slug attribute, for example [wanttobook slug="second-location"].

Does the plugin slow down every page?

No. The booking iframe uses native lazy loading, and the frontend stylesheet is enqueued only on pages where the block or shortcode is rendered.

Does the plugin store customer or booking information in WordPress?

No. The plugin stores only its organization slug and display height. Booking data is submitted directly to the hosted WantToBook service.

Does the plugin load an external service?

Yes. When a page contains the block or shortcode, it loads the booking form from wanttobook.com. That request is necessary to provide the booking functionality.
