Installation

Install the plugin from within the Dashboard by navigating to the ‘plugins’ -> ‘Add new’ menu in the Admin panel and searching “WP Fastest Site Search”. Or, upload the directory wp-fastest-site-search and all its contents to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
Activate the plugin from the ‘Plugins’ menu.
Once the plugin is activated, go to the ‘Site Search’ menu in the Admin panel.
Leave ‘Site URL’ and ‘Indexing way’ as it is unless required to change and click on ‘Continue’.
Authenticate with your Google account to create Expertrec API.

What is my API Key?

An API key is a unique identifier that you get when you make an account with ExpertRec. This key is used to identify and power your search. You can read more about getting your API key here.

Why is the search bar not appearing?

Have you activated the Site Search plugin?
Is your API Key correct? Get API key here.
Are you on a custom theme? Some themes may not have a search by default or may interfere with the plugin. In this case, you may have to add code manually from here.

Does the search bar support live search / Ajax search?

Yes, the ExpertRec site search plugin is a live search plugin and it will support AJAX search.

Do I need an account to make a Custom Search Engine

Yes, you will need to sign up with ExpertRec to get your API key. Once you have this, you will be able to add the custom search engine to your website.

Can I use this on my Woocommerce store?

Yes, ExpertRec site search does support Woocommerce search. The steps for installation are the same. The search bar will intelligently detect Woocommerce and make the necessary changes to get a better search experience suited to eCommerce.

Does it support voice search?

Voice search is supported by the ExpertRec site search widget on Chrome browser. Support for Firefox is in beta and can be made available on request.

Is voice search free to use?

Voice search is entirely free to use. During the 14-day free trial, you can test out the full capability of the search engine. After that, you can continue using the voice search along with the default WordPress search. It is recommended that you take a paid plan for getting maximum performance.

Can I search multiple websites or multiple subdomains using this plugin?

Yes, you can do both. Using this plugin your search bar will give results from both your main domain and all subdomains. You can also selectively choose which of your subdomains should be included in the search results. If you wish to search for a completely separate domain, then this can also be done by adding the new domain to the list of URLs to crawl.

Are there any additional charges for searching multiple URLs?

No, all charges are based on the total number of pages in the search index. There is no limit on the number of domains that you can add.

With a lot of content all search plugins we've tried becomes slower as more content we have. With this plugin the search is fast, reliable and user friendly. Very easy to setup without any hassle and a free trial. The Customer Support is excellent and very helpful. I highly recommend it!

I love that they give you the opportunity to try it first. I did and I loved it. I had some things I didn't want to come up in the search and contacted customer service about it - they were very helpful and responded quickly. I highly recommend this plug-in!

Update: This company continues to be amazing. We requested some updates to how our search responses were displayed on our site, and they worked with us to make sure it looked just like we desired. We found this plugin to be easy to use, and extremely beneficial. Our customers enjoy the ease with which they can locate products and even other content like our blogs on the site. Although we haven't heard from our disabled customers. we know this will make their shopping easier as well. Thank you Expertrec and Sudharshan for an outstanding product and support! I have nothing but good things to say about this company. I just moved to a new server and hosting company, I had a problem with my search. I went on live chat and immediately was greeted with a person that helped me get my search working again. But then I had a more complex issue on my end that a new person (Product Manager) came on line and helped me get through it. I love this plugin and their support is fantastic! Voice search is really a must have feature for modern websites for better UX. I hope the developer works on this project continuously to improve it. As I can see WP Hive Insights shows JavaScript issues, compatibility issue with PHP & WordPress.

Was looking for some time for a solution to keep my Woo theme's search bar, to enhance the look, as well as to speed the search which is slow using the theme's conventional ajax and js. The idea to crawl a site prior to displaying search results is not new, but this guy did a marvel: completely customized, keeping my theme's search bar without changing any code, just added a small js snippet in the <head>. AS a business manager it wasn't easy for me to do any customization, but these guys helped me and I recommend them!
